Good oral hygiene starts with daily brushing and flossing—but most people don’t do it the right way. Here’s how to keep your teeth clean, healthy, and strong.

How to Brush Properly
- Use a soft-bristled toothbrush
- Hard bristles can damage your enamel and gums.
- Hold the brush at a 45° angle to the gumline
- This helps remove plaque from both teeth and gum edges.
- Use short, gentle strokes
- Clean the outer, inner, and chewing surfaces of every tooth.
- Brush for 2 minutes, twice a day
- Use a timer or a brushing app to stay consistent.

How to Floss Correctly
- Take about 18 inches of dental floss
- Wrap most of it around your middle fingers.
- Gently slide the floss between two teeth
- Don’t snap or force it—be gentle.
- Curve it into a C-shape and move it under the gumline
- Wipe both sides of each tooth with a clean section.
- Floss daily, preferably at night

TIP: Replace your toothbrush every 3–4 months or sooner if the bristles are worn.
